Our Mission

Traditional document scanners and mobile scanner applications frequently require bulky hardware, account sign-ups, expensive monthly subscriptions, or intrusive data collection. Our mission is to make document scanning as simple and instantaneous as opening a web page.

With DocScan, you can turn any smartphone camera photo or uploaded snapshot into a straightened, high-contrast, multi-page PDF document in seconds—without installing software or surrendering your personal data.

Privacy-First Architecture

We believe your documents belong exclusively to you. That is why DocScan utilizes an entirely client-side architecture:

• Local Execution: Corner detection, perspective homography rectification, image filters, and PDF generation execute inside your device's browser memory using modern Web Canvas and JavaScript APIs.
• No Server Uploads: Your sensitive files, receipts, study notes, or confidential agreements are never transmitted across the network to our servers.
• Zero Storage: We do not operate a database or file repository for scanned documents. When you close the browser tab, all session data is immediately discarded.

Technology & Capabilities

DocScan leverages browser hardware acceleration and open standards to deliver desktop-grade scanning capabilities:

• Four-Point Projective Homography: Corrects camera keystone distortion to produce a perfectly rectangular page.
• Adaptive Threshold Filtering: Uses local integral image thresholding to eliminate uneven shadows and creases while rendering text razor-sharp.
• Client-Side Multi-Page PDF Generation: Uses jsPDF to combine multiple scanned pages into a standard, print-ready document.
